Gabe McVarish, originally from California and now living in Arisaig in the West Highlands of Scotland, was twice winner of the Junior US National Scottish Fiddle Championship by the age of seventeen. He studied music under fiddler Angus Grant Sr., and earned a BA in traditional music at Glasgow’s R.S.A.M.D. Gabe has played and recorded with a rich diversity of bands including Clíar, Kathleen MacInnes, and Ewan Robertson, and plays regularly with Dannsa. Gabe is one of the founding members of the sensational Gaelic band Dáimh. He released his long-awaited solo album Eclection on Greentrax in June 2010.
